Ø Air temperature 25 C to 30 C year round

Ø The water temperature 27 C to 29 C year round

Ø The wet season is Dec to April and is characterised by calm seas and tropical downpours during the evenings. The dry season is June to October and is generally hot and dry with strong southerly winds, which can cause the seas to become rough. Please note, however, that the seasons can vary.

Ø PNG currency is Kina

Ø Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted throughout PNG (including Aquaventures PNG)

TRANSPORT?

Ø PNG's international airport is located in Port Moresby. From Port Moresby all other towns in PNG are accessed by air (i.e. there is no road or rail system linking Port Moresby with any other town). Air Nuigini is the major domestic carrier and services the entire country. In Addition the northern part of the country is serviced by a second domestic carrier, Airlink. There are daily services between Port Moresby and Madang.

Ø Jais Aben is 15km from the airport and 22km from Madang town.

Ø There is no public transport available from Madang airport

RECOMMENDATION FOR ACCOMMODATIONS?

Ø For ease of diving, Jais Aben is recommended as the dive shop is on the grounds of Jais Aben.

Ø For the budget traveller CWA is the least expensive option and as there is a communal kitchen, food costs can be minimal

Ø For the "eco tourist", Adrian's guesthouse offers the greatest back to nature experience.
